Spring Fling Bank Holidays Weekend!

So the BIG event is almost here and I really hope if you have been following me and my weaving adventures you will make the trip to come and see me at The Mill on the Fleet at some point between this coming Saturday and Tuesday....

Each year Dumfries and Galloway hosts one of most successful open studios event of its kind in Scotland. Spring Fling 2012 takes place from 2 - 5 June and in celebration of its 10th birthday will host a four day event. Please join us to get behind the scenes of the studios of artists and makers whose doors are not usually open to the public, try your hand at a new skill or simply hop from studio to studio through some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery. So if you fancy a road trip or a great weekend away, you will find me at The Mill on the Fleet in Gatehouse. I will be showcasing a mix of research work, photography and finished textile pieces, which will be for sale. Its one week until the opening of this years Spring Fling open studio event and the start of my first ever solo exhibition at The Mill on the Fleet, Gatehouse.

New 2012 Scarf Collections

New images showcasing my new 2012 scarf collections that have been produced to sell at this year Spring Fling. I have created five collections which are defined by warp yarns used, with three collections produced with a silk and two with cotton warps. Within each collection all the scarves are individually designed and are one off pieces...

Lost in Translation...

                  Woven Colour and Drawing Translations

Working from my colour and drawing research I wanted to translate these images directly into woven fabric, using simple twills and satin woven structures to create these simple yet experimental works. Each piece has been individual designed and made and I felt worked well as a framed piece of work. The collection contains 18 individually pieces of work, that I hope will work well together as a collection but can be seen as stand alone pieces of work. I have photographed 5 of them to give you a  taste of what you can expect...
